in February 1996, when Bill Clinton was running for re-election?

The answer might surprise those of you who think Bush has done a horrible job with the economy.

I know the current is 5.6. I was hoping to compare it to the rate at the exact same point in Bill Clinton's tenure.

I can't find the unemployment rate under Clinton but I did find these interesting facts...

2-18-92: The tabloid magazine The Globe reveals that Candidate Clinton allegedly fathered a "love child" with an under-aged black Arkansas prostitute, Bobbie Ann Williams, during one of his 16 paid visits. The eventual DNA test which allegedly let Clinton off the hook may have been deliberately compromised by the FBI.

11-92: Leader-elect Bill Clinton claims that "Mine will be the most ethical administration in the history of the Republic!"

1-20-93: Bill Clinton inaugurated as 42nd leader of the free world. The celebration costs approximately $25 million; at least $154,000 worth of radios, computers, televisions, VCRs, walkie-talkies and pagers are stolen by Clinton inauguration employees and volunteers.

1-93: Clinton orders military hospitals to perform abortions on demand.

1-93: Bill Clinton fires his physician for refusing to treat him without first obtaining his medical records from Arkansas.

1-21-93: Clinton breaks his first promise: to introduce his legislative program by the day after his inauguration.

1-22-93: Clinton abolishes the Competitiveness Council even though its regulatory reform promised to save taxpayers $20 billion annually and create 200,000 jobs.

1-22-93: Attorney General nominee Zoe Baird withdraws after admitting she hired illegal aliens and neglected to pay their Social Security taxes.

1-25-93: Hillary Clinton is named to run Clinton's health care reform task force, which the White House says will cost taxpayers $100,000. (See 11-9-95.)

2-5-93: Kimba Wood withdraws her name for nomination as attorney general after its disclosed she employed an undocumented worker as a nanny.

2-17-93: Clinton announces budget proposal, widely recognized as a government-growth package with $359 billion in increased taxes and fees, breaking his campaign promise to lower taxes for the middle class.

3-93: Bill Clinton puts U.S. troops under United Nations command in Somalia.

3-3-93: Bill Clinton states that "Everybody knows that I have tougher ethics rules than any other previous President."

3-15-93: Clinton's economic stimulus package is introduced in the Senate. It includes, among other things, tax money for "midnight basketball."

Who cares?

It doesn't address the primary problems of competing with folks that have no wage or pollution controls, nor any respect for copyrights and trademarks.

I can see why some people might not be so enthusiastic about discussing this.

Its a left wing media driven...abc,cbs,nbc,cnn,NYTimes etc. invents the issues of the day,and carries the water for the dems....Actually the unemplotment rate under Clinton on average was 5.9...the recent figures are 5.6.
Just like the Bush ads, inventing a issue that is not..they didn't bother mentioning a woman that was a democrat and voted for Gore said Bush has all the right in the world to use the ad.

The bottom line is that shrub has destroyed the American economy and left us with trillions of dollars of debt that future generations will be unable to pay off.

Electing this clown to public office is a national embarassment

Once again.....Facts point out that the unemployment rate isn't as bad as the Libs want you to think and of course a lib (obviously not wanting to discuss the facts) rips on Bush's intelligence.

Some things never change........
